Sonika Imaging was created in November, 2007 after only a few months of providing independent recording artists in the Baltimore metropolitan area with personal stylist services. Sonika Imaging opened its doors to the public in January, 2008. Sonika Imaging offers wardrobe auditing and planning, media coaching, and personal shopping services. Sonika Imaging specializes in working with independent recording artists and other entertainment professionals.
The Sonika Imaging Virtual Mall opens its online doors! Since October, 2007, Sonja has been an affilliate publisher for some major brands such as Baby Phat, Phat Farm, Travelocity, Famous Footwear, Iced Out Gear, USAFlorist and others. These affilliations became a part of Sonika Imaging in January, 2008 as The Sonika Imaging Virtual Mall! At its conception, the mall hosted 10 stores but has been downsized to 9 as of August, 2008. Sonika Imaging Artist Services was developed as a division of Sonika Imaging to address the growing need for artists to become members of a performing rights organization and to copyright their music. Sonika Imaging Artist Services offers artists assistance in obtaining membership in ASCAP or BMI and copyrighting music through the U.S. Copyright Office. Sonja, CEO, Sonika Imaging, discovers videography and YouTube! The Curli2007 channel on YouTube was developed in February, 2008. Originally its purpose was to showcase artists that were Sonika Imaging clients. However, as a result of its growing popularity, Sonja began to video other artists and events from around the DMV and included the latest fashion videos to the channel, as well! The Sonika Imaging Virtual Mall has been torn down to make way for a new venture for 2009! The Sonika Imaging Shops webpage will provide direct online shopping access to Sonika Imaging's "Tees and More!" Boutique, "Mika's Visions", and selected shops and services only.
In April, 2009, Sonja Davis-Lawrence, CEO of Sonika Imaging, was appointed by the office of the Managing Director of "Cambridge's Who Who" as a biographical candidate to represent Edgewood, Maryland in the 2009/2010 online "Cambridge Who's Who Registry among Executive and Professional Women". On March 2, 2009, her candidacy was approved! Ms. Davis-Lawrence is now listed in the "Cambridge Who's Who Registry" among thousands of accomplished individuals.
In May, 2009, Sonika Imaging added another great service to its Sonika Imaging Artist Services division - Event Posting! With our "Event Posting" service, independent artists can have their upcoming events posted by us on as many as 6 different industry-related and social networking sites for just $30. That's only $5 per site. Artists can select the sites they're interested in from a list of 28 sites Sonika Imaging is affilliated with such as MySpace, Facebook, DMV All Access, ReverbNation, and Twitter.
August, 2009 marked the beginning of a new affilliate marketing venture, once again for Sonika Imaging! Sonika Imaging became an affilliate publisher with the Google Affilliate Network and began advertising for Cricket, DRJAYS.com, FergieShoes.com, Sunglass Hut, and Circuit City! We are very excited about our new affilliates and hope our clients and website visitors will enjoy the convenience of shopping at these great online stores from the Sonika Imaging & Sonika Imaging Artist Services websites!
In October, 2009, Ms. Davis-Lawrence, CEO of Sonika Imaging/Sonika Imaging Artist Services was selected to participate in The 2009 "Miss Teen Baltimore Pageant" as a judge! Unfortunately due to illness, Ms. Davis-Lawrence was unable to attend, but what an honor! She is hoping to be asked again next year to participate in such a wonderful event showcasing young ladies from our community in such a positive way!
Sonika Imaging is pleased and honored to announce our company's nomination in October, 2009, for a 2009 Baltimore Crown Award in the "Best New Website/Blog category! Nominated for the 2009 Baltimore Crown "Manager of the Year"Award is Mika Thaniel, Artist Manager/Developer and Photographer for Sonika Imaging! And we're not finished yet! Our clients, hip hop artists, Savage Da Beast and Wood are also nominated for a 2009 Baltimore Crown Award for their first mixtape collaboration, "S.O.D. - Swagg On Delivery" which was released on June 12, 2009 as well as a solo nomination for an award for Savage Da Beast! In December, 2009, Sonika Imaging/Sonika Imaging Artist Services joined the Skype community! Skype will be used to receive calls from potential clients and as a tool to connect with existing clients using the video call feature. Video calls will be made to clients, using Skype, before shows, interviews, photo shoots, etc. to answer last minute questions, tofinalize wardrobe selections, and to resolve last minute wardrobe malfunction issues, if any.
